The most winning off-road racer in history is hanging up his helmet. Longtime KMC Wheels driver Carl Renezeder is stepping away from fulltime competition after a career for the record books.

“Carl has been a great ambassador for KMC Wheels and for the sport of off-road racing. He is a true professional in every sense of the word”, says Mike Bell, Sports Marketing Manager at KMC Wheels. “The idea of saying goodbye to Carl at the end of this year seems a bit surreal right now. He is a class act and the impression he has had on the sport of short course off-road racing will last forever.”

Renezeder, who turned 53 in April, earned 121 short course wins over the span of a lifelong career. His accomplishments include nine short course championships and eight cup wins. In 2009, he became the first driver in short-course off-road racing history to win championships in both two wheel drive and four wheel drive trucks in the same season when he won the 2009 Unlimited 2 and Unlimited 4 divisions in LOORRS.

Nicknamed “Crandon Carl” for his successes in the Wisconsin town that many fans consider the spiritual home of short course off-road racing, the Southern California native has earned three major titles in unlimited four-wheel drive PRO 4 trucks titles at the Big House: the Labor Day Borg Warner Cup crown in 2003, as well as two Forest County Potawatomi Chairman's Cup Challenge victories in 2004 and 2007.

For much of his finale season, Renezeder ran a commemorative golden livery – with KMC Wheels front and center.
